As the group was winding down for the day outside of Veraku’s lair, Nyxxa sat puzzling over her cobbled together notebook. The satyr tapped her quill on the paper, her other hand balled in a fist over her mouth. The page she studied was a six-pointed chart of the magics types as she had learned them, surrounded by various doodles both related and unrelated to the topic they were next to.
I don’t get it.
Of the types of casters Nyxxa knew of -druids, priestesses, mages, warlocks, necromancers, and shamans- she could place all but one of them on various parts of the chart in front of her. However, the more she thought about it, for the life of her she couldn’t figure out where to put the shamans. She had seen mages bind elementals and wield elemental powers, but the magic that the shamans utilized seemed more intuitive than any understanding of the arcane she had. It could be nature, but it also seemed so different then the sort of nature magic she was familiar with. Sadras’ magic helped her understand animals, so there was that.
Maybe there is overlap?
She tapped her quill on the “Nature” corner of the parchment, then shook her head and closed the book.
Guessing is going to get me nowhere…
Luckily for her there were plenty of people to ask on the topic, but as Nyxxa scanned the group her gaze fell upon Go’el.
Though she felt a bit uneasy about questioning someone on things of spiritual significance to them, it wouldn’t hurt to at least ask. That, and he had mentioned back in Garadar that it would be good for them to get to know each other better. Perhaps it might be good to understand his boundaries on this topic.
“Hey Go’el!” She said with a wave of her hand as she approached him. “I don’t mean to bother you, but if you have the time would you mind if I asked you some stuff about the magic you use? Azzy and Levia have been teaching me about magics, and it made me realize I know nothing about shamanism.”
Nyxxa held up her notebook, showing her work.
“If you’d be willing to share, I’d like to learn about it. But, if not, I’d at least want to be respectful when we run into other shamans or elementals in the future!”
