They had been at sea for the better part of four months, but though it was approaching the cold months of winder, the weather was still temperate - this is precisely why he knew they were almost at the Valley. Even the coldest months would hardly get to the temperatures that would cause it to snow.
As Sura made his way to the top deck, he was proven right when he was greeted with a scene that brought back a strange amount of nostalgia. Home, he thought; something he never though would cross his mind.
Though they were still a bit out from port, he could see the miraculous port city in the evening sun, some lanterns already lit among the shore. The port city of Zuanshi - the Diamond of the Valley. He knew more than anyone that the place had as much scum and as many shadows as any other city, but it was a charming city full of possibility, no matter what that meant. Merchant vessels inbound and outbound passed at a distance, hailing the gentlemen that had been so kind as to port them and the other guests all of this way. The towers and archways beckoned, as if begging for travellers to rest their weary heads in the city for souls wayward and otherwise.
Sura leaned up against one of the masts of the vessel and sighed, his arm braced against the red wood above his head, his robes loose and comfortable around him. For awhile, he was afraid he would never be able to come back.
"Rinsssu," Sura called down the stairs to the lower deck, hoping that the taguel had finished with her bath. "Are you dresssed? You should come ssssee this."
