After experiencing both the unforgiving frost of northern Zodia and balmy breeze of Okeanos, Hodden was almost let down by the temperate, plain landscape of Lagalla. Even so it reminded him much of home - the one he was born into in the Cervine Territories and also his foster tavern on the edge of Zodia. The grandeur lie in its simplicity, the idea that one could carve out a small corner for themselves and their kin (floating city be damned). Besides, he was quite satisfied with solid ground for the time being, wherever it may reside.
A whirlwind of new faces, allegiances, and general things-a-knight-needed-to-know kept Hodden occupied during the landfall of Zodian forces and subsequent tactics meetings. The Taguel knight stayed close to his liege but constantly shook hands with commanders or introduced parties as a way of keeping track himself. Finally, he found himself face-to-face with a one-eyed man with hair and features strangely similar to the small child he'd given caribou-back rides. Hodden recalled he was present when they landed and seemed to know nearly everyone present at the summit. In a moment of piercing clarity, he realized Laird had been standing with him prior to leaving Ascension - the former crown prince of Lagalla, Connor.
With a sudden straightening of his spine, Hodden approached and nodded curtly. "Greetings, Gentleman Connor. I don't believe I've had the fortune of meeting you - I'm Ser Hodden, recently of Zodia."
