Ascension in Drytus does not exude warmth but spirits seemed to burn brighter in defiance of winter's bite. Perhaps the news of a great victory in the north brought some comfort even to the huddled masses of the makeshift hospital established by the Flames. Supplies and talent, though utilized frequently, never ran short due to numerous donors from the common folk through the nobility, even royalty. Prince Orion and Seasil could often be found visiting patients and staff alike - enough to draw notice from a caribou Taguel volunteer curious about the monarch-to-be and his draconic bodyguard.
On one such occasion when the pair had come to call, Hodden was assigned to transporting cold-susceptible convalescents from drafty sections of the triage center to more comfortable conditions. For the more infirmed bedridden, an ingenious stretcher was designed by Piper to be pulled via harness without disrupting bandages or other treatments. However space was becoming a premium and he lacked navigational skills with the med sled; Hodden misjudged a corner and over-corrected sharply, nearly upending the entire bed. Fortunately, a deft pair of hands stabilized the patient and re-set bindings with an inherent knowledge of medicine. Hodden peered behind to survey the damage, found himself face-to-face with Seasil and with a pause discovered he had a profound lack of words.

"Um...hello. You're the dragon lady, right?"
