She hadn’t stepped into this place since Caria had shown it to her, and little had changed.  A once well-loved forgotten place, as her ‘friend’ had said.  At least this place could be seen in a better light now that she had brought Levia with her to watch.

Nyxxa reached down her hand to touch the cold stone that lined the pool, as she studied the now stagnant water within it.

A “Moonwell”. Similar sounding to the Sunwell she had heard some of the elves speak of. Or perhaps, a reflection of what one was.  Something remembered by the quel'dorei people even long after they had left.  Perhaps that was why she could remember the importance of something like this too.

A place for prayer.

Would it be blasphemous for her to pray at a place like this?  At an imitation of a sacred place?  Or if something like her were to pray, would that be the bigger sin?    She wondered if attempting to do so would do more harm than good.  That the powers she would beseech would be angered.  She couldn’t remember their temperament.

But all these considerations were dulled by the overwhelming feeling that this was what she needed to do.  It would likely be her last chance in a long time.  The Ban’denarial was falling, and there was much to be done.

She knelt down before the pool, and bowed her head.

Whomever out there is listening.  Please watch over those who call this land their home, and those who now must call this land their home.  To those who are unable to defend themselves, and those who are yet unaware of what is to come.  To all those that must either flee or fight.

And, in the battles to come, may we all have the restraint to know where to draw the line.  Though much must be compromised, that we do not compromise too much.

Nyxxa’s thoughts drifted back to Levia.  Not only her, but to Azgadaan, Sadras, Arthak and everyone else.  But, she thought, it would be out of place to pray on behalf of someone specific to a god they knew nothing of.  This could only be for her.

I cannot ask for your forgiveness when I cannot remember what I have done.  But.  Know that your wayward daughter still seeks to walk in your light in the protection of this world.  Even if I can no longer see that light for myself.

She let those words settle, like the calming of ripples on the water, and sat until the chill of the wind began to bother her.  And, like nothing had happened, Nyxxa stood and walked back towards Levia.

She didn’t know if anyone, let alone any god, had been listening.  She had given up herself as forgotten by them a long time ago.  Yet, as she walked, she felt as though a little bit of the weight on her shoulders had been lifted.
